Ailsa Bay V1.2 Sweet Smoke

The first spirit to trickle from the stills of Aisla Bay was in 2007. Bottlings from this distillery have since been few and far between as most of Aisla Bay's production is destined for the world famous Grant's Blend. This release is the only the second to be bottled by William Grants. Expect quite a bit of sweetness and a nice dollop of peat.

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Fresh wood smoke with notes of smouldering damp heather and an extinguished bonfire. Following the smoke is a wave of oaky sweetness and vanilla oak, candied orange peel.

Taste – Beautifully balanced peat and rich vanilla oakiness, this second batch has maintained the same intriguing flavour meandering between smoke, fruit and cream toffee, this extra maturation period has developed deeper toasty oak notes with every sip.

Finish – An intriguing balance of oaky sweetness and peaty dryness.
