A spicy Mexican chile liqueur based on a 1920s recipe from the Bario del Artisa in Pueblo. Of many homemade liqueurs known as menjurje (a mixture of herbs and spices), one in particular made from the local ancho chilli proved most popular - and it has now been modernised by the Reyes family while staying true to a hundred year old recipe.
Official Tasting Notes Deep bronze in colour, has a medium body and high viscosity. Dried chilli, spices, cinnamon, cocoa, tamarind and wet wood with light herbal notes on the nose. Pleasantly sweet on the palate followed by chilli with moderate hear, slight acidity and hints of apple, almonds, plums and spices.
