Barbeito Madeiras are made through a slow process that relies on natural heat and controlled oxidation (as opposed to caramel, which is how some of the 'shortcut' Madeiras on the market gain their colour). Following the traditional methods means the result commands a higher price, but they're so eminently worth it. And remember - once opened, Madeira lasts weeks, if not months. Meaning a bottle can stretch to several occasions if you're self-controlled enough to limit your intake. We won't judge if you aren't!
