This comes from Australia’s oldest licensed rum distillery, on the Queensland coast. A first column distillation is followed by distillation in a copper pot still. After 10 years in American oak in Australia, The Elixir Trails aged it a further seven in second-fill bourbon casks in the UK.
Official Tasting Notes On the nose; banana and unmistakable diesel fuel with raisins and currants. A palate that is very dense with a rich, oily texture. Loads of boozy sultanas and baked, overripe bananas. Condensed milk with dried mango and dried mint. To finish it dries off on the tongue with mint, tarragon, and sunbaked tropical fruit.
