A triumph of texture and the expression of terroir. Vibrant lemon citrus notes accompianied by seam of nervy acidity are cushioned by a saline minerality. This develops into aromatic herbaceous notes and a very long finish.

Bodegas Frontonio have been garnering an impressive reputation as the one of the most exciting contemporary wineries in Spain. The operation, led by Fernando Mora MW and Mario López, has received high praise from such esteemed figures as Jancis Robinson MW, and Luis Guitiérrez of Wine Advocate, all while making wine in the modest appelation of Valdejalón IGP in Aragón.

Frontonio's Grand Cru selection, or 'V3' as they are designated on the label, is a collection of wines made from grapes sourced from their oldest vines - from 45 and 75 years old for their Macabeo and Garnacha respectively, and up to 120 years at their prized vineyard, 'El Jardin de las Iguales'.

This wine is made from Macabeo picked from a 1.84 ha single vineyard (titular) planted in slate and limestone soils between 1898 and 1908. The vineyard is situated in Barrandijos, near Alpartir, on relatively steep northeast-facing slopes at 700m above sea level.

The grapes are picked by hand, with selection in the vineyard, and destemmed before 36 hours of maceration on skins. The must is fermented by indigenous yeast in foudre, then the wine is aged in foudre for 12 months. The aged wine is then transferred to neutral barrels for a final period of maturation prior to bottling.

This exceptional wine is limited to only 802 individually numbered bottles worldwide.

Toscana sunshine yellow colour. Yuzu, wild fennel and flint. Sharp entrance in palate with direct acidity. Succulent texture. Sophistication of spiced hints that will last almost infinitely.
