Ripe, refined and elegant, with sharp citrus, blossomy florality, and an aromatic herbaceousness. A whisper of smoke and a flinty minerality are detectable on the long, persistent finish.

Bodegas Frontonio has gained an impressive reputation as one of the most exciting contemporary wineries in Spain. Led by Fernando Mora MW and Mario López, this operation has received high acclaim from renowned figures such as Jancis Robinson MW and Luis Guitiérrez of Wine Advocate, all while producing wine in the humble Valdejalón IGP appellation in Aragón.

Frontonio's Grand Cru selection, designated 'V3' on the label, comprises wines crafted from grapes carefully sourced from their oldest vines. These vines range from 45 to 75 years old for their Macabeo and Garnacha varieties, respectively, up to 120 years old in their prized vineyard, 'El Jardin de las Iguales,'.

This wine is a blend of Macabeo and Garnacha Blanca from two vineyards - called 'La Loma' and 'Los Santos' - with a combined area of 1.3 ha. The vines, aged over 45 years, are planted in clay-limestone and slate soils on gentle slopes at around 500-600m above sea level.

The fruit was picked by hand over the course of 1 week, and destemmed before macerating on skins for 32 hours. The must is then pressed into ca. 600L Demi-Muid casks for fermentation by indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of 500L and 900L casks, before assemblage and bottling.

This beautiful wine is limited to 3052 bottles worldwide.

Bright wax yellow. Acid lime, flint and brioche. Immersive soft attitude. Very fresh and distinguished. Mineral length and sapid texture with smoke hints providing distinction.
