Juicy and crisp, with fresh stonefruit and a slightly smoky character on the nose, and a velvety palate bursting with ripe red fruit framed by fine tanins and a gripping acidity. 

Bodegas Frontonio has gained a highly respectable reputation as one of the most captivating contemporary wineries in Spain. Led by Fernando Mora MW and Mario López, the enterprise has received accolades from esteemed individuals like Jancis Robinson MW and Luis Guitiérrez of Wine Advocate, all while producing wine in the unassuming Valdejalón IGP appellation in Aragón.

Frontonio's Grand Cru wines, called the 'V3' collection, comprises wines crafted from grapes obtained from their oldest vines. These vines, aged between 45 and 75 years for Macabeo and Garnacha respectively, and even up to 120 years for their prized vineyard, 'El Jardin de las Iguales', make exceptional wines.

This wine is a blend of Garnacha (predominantly) and Macabeo from 80 year old vines on the steep slopes of Frontonio's La Tejera vineyard. This 1.4 ha vineyard is planted on slate and quartzite soils at 640m above sea level.

The grapes are picked by hand and crushed by foot. The must was fermented by indigenous yeasts over the course of 55 days, with daily punching down, also by foot. The wine is aged for 14 months in foudre prior to bottling.

This wine is limited to 4,531 individually numbered bottles worldwide.

Official Tasting Notes
Bluish ruby red. Kumquat, jasmine and flint stone. A fresh wine with succulent crispy texture. Velvety austere tannins creating mount essences. Extreme length that predicts a very special wine.
