Bodegas Frontonio Microcosmico Tinto Garnacha 2021

Taut and structural, but with a beguiling underlying generosity. Red florality and notes of tart red berries and a subtle herbaceousness are balanced by a sharp acidity and well-judged tannins - A delightful pairing for fattier cuts of pork or robust meat stews.

Fernando Mora MW and Mario Lopez, the Winemaker and Viticulturalist of Bodegas Frontonio respectively, craft exceptional wines using a minimal intervention approach while staying closely attuned to the soil, grapes, and wine throughout the winemaking process. Their winery is situated in Alpartir, located southwest of Zaragoza, Spain, and is housed in a 200-year-old building that sits above a three-story cellar/cave system.

This wine is made from 100% single estate Garnacha from vines planted in sandy slate soils at 650m above sea level on the slopes of Valdejalon. These dry-farmed bush vines have a minimum age of 50 years.

The grapes are harvested by hand, each bunch selected for quaility in the vineyard. The fruit is pressed and fermented simply before ageing the wine for 11 months in concrete tanks.
