Single cask release from a sherry hogshead, bottled by other sister shop Royal Mile Whiskies. The Braeval spirit matured for an impressive 28 years!

Only 114 bottles were vatted from the cask, they have been bottled at a cask strength of 47.9%. There are very few single malt bottlings of this Speyside distillery. The classically fruity Speyside style has worked beautifully in the sherry cask, showing all sorts of juicy fruit and dark chocolate notes after 28 years in oak.

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – Old furniture, boozy winter fruits with a herbal twist then a cascade of raisins, nuts, cloves and cherries. Aged copper and wood.

Palate – Well poised juicy sherry notes.  Water brings more red fruits and dark chocolate.

Finish – Long and delicious with wafts of chocolate and cinnamon, liquorice, hazelnuts and lebkuchen. After some time, the remnants of an old fireplace and wood shavings.
