Historically Scottish distillers have used Scottish oats in distillation as they are creamy and plentifully grown in Scotland. This practise died out in the early 20th century as they are relatively hard to work with and have a low alcohol yield. Brochan Vodka have revived this, producing a creamy nutty vodka.
