Champagne Serveaux Pur Meunier Brut NV

Rounded and complex, with notes of red berries, white peach and blossom, and a classic meunier fleshiness. The back palate offers a slight autolytic note and a zippy mineral finish. 

Third generation winemakers, and siblings, Elodie, Nicolas and Hugo, are the current custodians of the Serveaux family estate and its 15 ha of vineyards planted by their grandfather, Georges Serveaux, in the 1950s. Working from their estate in the small town of Passy-sur-Marne, on the banks of the Marne river, the Serveaux family have a particular affection for their Pinot Meunier, for which the Marne valley is best known.

This Brut Champagne is made from 100% Pinot Meunier from the 2014 (70%) and 2013 (30%) vintages, grown on the clay-limestone soils of Passy-sur-Marne and neighbouring Barzy-sur-Marne. For each vintage, the fruit was pressed and vinified traditionally in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation. The wines were blended and bottled for secondary fermentation and 36 months of ageing on lees prior to disgorgement in September 2022, and topping up with a dosage of 6g/L.

Official Tasting Notes
Visually an attractive, slightly pink colour with pale gold highlights. The nose is aromatic with scented peony and red berries, followed by more red fruit, and delicate brioche on the palate with the mineral quality and touch of salinity that is typical of Pinot Meunier from Passy-sur-Marne.
