Chateau Maucoil Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2020

Some of the most desirable wines in France, wines from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area of the Rhone Valley come with a reputation for excellence, and this wine from Château Maucoil, a vineyard on the left bank of the River Rhone, doesn't disappoint. Hand harvested, vinified in concrete tanks, and aged for 2-3 years in old oak barrels. A complex wine that would make an excellent gift, it pairs well with beef or lamb.

Made from organically grown grapes, this very deeply coloured red offers aromas of dried fruit and dark roast coffee on the nose. Typically bright and fresh despite its full body and intense colour, the palate shows ripe berry fruit, subtle savoury spice, and bright, upright tannins. Both savoury and fruity, with a very long finish.
