Event Terms and Conditions

Where to find information about us and our events

You can find everything you need to know about us, The Dormant Distillery Company Ltd, and our events on our website or from our sales staff before you book. We will also confirm the key information to you after you book by email.

When you book an event with us you are agreeing that:

  • - We only accept bookings when we've checked them.
  • - Sometimes we reject bookings.
  • - We charge you when you book.
  • - We're not responsible for delays outside our control.
  • - You have rights if there is something wrong with the provision of the event.
  • - We can change an event and these terms.
  • - We can withdraw events.
  • - We can end our contract with you.
  • - We don't compensate you for all losses caused by us or our events.
  • - We use your personal data as set out in our Privacy Notice.
  • - You have several options for resolving disputes with us.
  • - Other important terms apply to our contract.

We only accept bookings when we've checked them

We will contact you to confirm we've received your booking. In some cases, but not all, you will be sent an e-ticket, to the email address which you provided when you made a booking. Where e-tickets are provided for an event, these may not be sent when the booking is made, but will be sent any time up to seven days prior to the event. Where you do not receive an e-ticket, the email confirmation acts as your ticket.

Sometimes we reject bookings

Sometimes we reject bookings, for example because we can't verify your age or because the booking was mispriced by us. When this happens, we will let you know as soon as possible and refund any sums you have paid.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we charge you when you book

Prices are stated in GBP and include VAT (if applicable). Your payment and booking entitles you to access to the Event for which you have registered. Any and all other costs associated with your attendance shall be borne solely by you, and we shall have no liability for such costs.

We don’t give business customers all the same rights as consumers

For example, we don’t compensate business customers in the same way for losses caused by us or our events. Where a term applies just to businesses or just to consumers, this is clearly stated. You are a business customer if you are attending events wholly or mainly in connection with your trade, business, craft or profession, even if you are an individual.

Tickets

You will either be emailed an e-ticket or your email confirmation will act as your ticket, no physical ticket will be sent to you. You will be required to show your ticket to gain entrance to the event.

Tickets are for personal use only. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets if you resell or attempt to resell such tickets in breach of this section. Any ticket holder who has purchased a ticket via prohibited resale will be refused entry to the event and no refunds will be given.

Tickets to our events cannot be used in any advertising, promotions, competitions or other similar activities without our prior written consent.

If you are a business customer this is our entire agreement with you

If you are a business customer these terms constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to your purchase. You acknowledge that you have not relied on any statement, promise, representation, assurance or warranty made or given by us or on our behalf which is not set out in these terms and that you have no claim for innocent or negligent misrepresentation or negligent misstatement based on any statement in this agreement.

We're not responsible for delays outside our control

If the event is rescheduled or cancelled by an event outside our control, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know. You can contact our Customer Service Team: [email protected] to end the contract and receive a refund for a booking you have paid for which has been rescheduled or cancelled.

You have rights if there is something wrong with the event

The Dormant Distillery Company Ltd strives to provide you with the most productive, informative and engaging experience possible. If after attending an event you feel there is some way we can improve, please provide us with your comments. Should you feel dissatisfied with your experience, please submit your feedback in writing to [email protected]. We will evaluate individual complaints in a context of collective comments from the event.

We can change an event and these terms

Changes we can always make to an event. We can always change an event:

  • - to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements;
  • - to make minor adjustments and improvements, for example to address a security threat, to change producers, any talks or demonstrations, or the content or tasting product line-up. These are changes that don't affect your attendance at an event.
  •
Changes we can only make if we give you notice and an option to terminate. We can also make the following types of change to an event or these terms, but if we do so we'll notify you and you can then contact our Customer Service Team: [email protected] to end the contract before the change takes effect and receive a refund for that event:

  • - Change of venue or date/time of the event.

We can withdraw the event

We can withdraw or rearrange the event. Where possible, we will let you know in advance and you can either i) if permitted by us, exchange your ticket to another event or; ii) we will refund any sums you've paid in advance for an event which won't be provided.

We can end our contract with you

We can end our contract with you for an event and claim any compensation due to us if:

  • - where applicable, you don't make any payment to us when it's due;
  • - our employees, agents or other appropriate person in authority at the event consider, in our sole discretion, that your participation or behaviour creates a disruption or hinders the event of the enjoyment of the event by other attended or is likely to cause harm to any other person or property.

Age restrictions

It is also illegal to sell alcohol to an adult who is purchasing alcohol to someone under the age of 18.

All attendees are expected to treat others with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or exclusion on any grounds is strictly prohibited. We are committed to making our events welcoming, safe, and accessible for everyone.

We strive to make our events accessible to people of all abilities. If you require additional support, please contact us in advance so we can advise on possible arrangements. Attendees must respect accessibility accommodations, including seating, entry assistance and other provisions. Any behaviour that undermines accessibility for other attendees will not be tolerated.

Our staff, security personnel or other authorised representatives may enforce these rules at their discretion. Refusal to comply with instructions related to prohibited conduct may result in immediate removal from the event, denial of future event access or other actions deemed appropriate.

Provided that you notify us at least fourteen (14) days prior to you attending an event, you can cancel your booking and receive a full refund. We will process your refund as soon as possible and within 14 days of you telling us that you are not able to attend. We will refund you by the method you used for payment.

If you inform us within fourteen (14) days of the event that you are unable to attend, you may be permitted to exchange your booking to an alternative event, at our sole discretion.

We don't compensate you for all losses caused by us or our event

We're not responsible for losses you suffer caused by us breaking this contract if the loss is:

  • - Unexpected. It was not obvious that it would happen and nothing you said to us before we accepted your booking meant we should have expected it (so, in the law, the loss was unforeseeable).
  • - Caused by a delaying event outside our control. As long as we have taken the steps set out in the section ‘We're not responsible for delays outside our control’.
  • - Avoidable. Something you could have avoided by taking reasonable action, including following our reasonable instructions. Photographs will likely be taken at an event for promotional purposes, including but not limited to future marketing, social media, and press coverage. If you do not wish to be included in photographs in this manner, please make it known to us and the photographer at the event.

THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS
