Antique Palo Cortado 50cl

Palo Cortado, it is something of a mystery. There has even been a movie made about it! Palo Cortado is a sherry that begins life behaving like a Fino sherry, ageing under the flor (yeast) in barrels, and then it loses the yeast, and starts to age like an Oloroso sherry, with the oak and oxygen being the main ageing factors, rather than the yeast. Palo Cortados have the rich full notes of oloroso, but with the crisp nutty notes of a Fino or Amontillado. With an average age of 30 years old, this is a special bottle.
