This red wine is made from Shiraz and Syrah grapes, which are grown in the Rhone region, France. The wine is aged in between 80 and 100% new, French oak barrels, spending close to 18 months in barrel before bottling. The production is quite small as only 100 cases are produced in an average year.
Food PairingRoast lamb with rosemary, grilled duck breast with a red wine reduction, or venison with a juniper berry sauce. Aged hard cheeses like Comté or earthy cheeses like Tomme de Savoie.
Official Tasting Notes Deep ruby with purple tinges, likely transitioning to garnet hues as it matures in appearance. With aromas of expressive and layered blackberry bouquet, ripe cherries, and plums, combined with hallmark Côte-Rôtie savory notes of smoked meat, black olive, and cracked black pepper. Subtle floral notes of violet and secondary aromas of leather, tobacco, and earthy minerality may now be emerging.
