Glasgow Blend Scotch Whisky by Compass Box

The Glasgow Blend, from the well-renowned independent blenders & bottlers, Compass Box, takes it's cue from the 1930s book, "Whisky" by Aeneas MacDonald. In this, he states that a fuller, heavier style of whisky was the preference in Glasgow. This dram is indeed full and fruity, with a generous dose of smoke for the heaviness.

It is made up of 45% ex-bourbon cask matured malt and grain whiskies, 34% Speyside whiskies from Oloroso sherry seasoned butts, 18% smoky Islay whiskies, and the last 3% comes from Compass Box's own signature Highland blended malt.

Official Tasting Notes Full, rich and smoky on the palate, with notes of sticky toffee pudding, Sherry wine character and impressions of a coal fire, Glasgow Blend shines in combination with rich cheeses and cured meats.
