Ilegal Mezcal Reposado

This spirit is aged for 6 months in charred, new and old American oak barrels. All barrels are made by the family-run business, Kelvin Cooperage.

The name Illegal is in honour of the owner, John Rexer's loved ones who live in the USA as 'illegals'. He saw them dream and hope for a better life back home in Mexico. He sees it as a way to highlight the injustices of borders, surveillence and freedom.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose – caramelized pear and bitter orange.

Palate – clove, butterscotch, and hints of vanilla.
