Montecillo Vina Monty Garnacha Reserva 2015

Deep, energetic and swaggeringly ripe. Packed with juicy strawberry and cassis, spicy french oak and a sublime balance of succulent tannin and linear acidity.

This revival of Bodegas Montecillo's top label - Vina Monty - celebrates their 150th anniversary of winemaking in Rioja Alta. The grapes for this 100% Garnacha wine are sourced from a plot of 80 year old vines at 542 metres above sea level in the village of Arenzana, Rioja Alta, which accounts for the majority of the assemblage, and a lower altuitude plot from the clay soils of Rioja Oriental. These wines are separately vinified before being blended and then aged in new French oak for 26 months, then released after a further 16 months in the bottle.
