Some of the best wines are produced in unforgiving soil and tougher climates. This is particularly true of this Pinot Noir from Central Otago, in the middle south of the South Island, New Zealand. In the mountains, this vineyard is on the edge of what is climatically possible in a very short growing season with dangers of early frost. What comes forth though is an excellent organically grown Pinot Noir, fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 11 months in French Oak, of which 20% is new oak.
Official Tasting Notes Aromas of dark berry fruits, spice, savoury tones and thyme. A sinewy palate full of bright fruit flavours with a delicate herbal thread throughout.
