A plastic packaging free zone
Produced mainly from the 2012 vintage, this is made from 80-year-old vines which are traditionally harvested, foot trodden, fermented and aged in barrel for 2 years, before bottling in 2014. The age of the vines make this a very special bottle. Niepoort have been producing fine port since 1842. This port will work very well with blue cheese, which sounds like perfection itself. Crusted means that some natural sediment has developed in the bottle over time, so this is a bottle to be decanted before serving.

Official Tasting Notes Predominantly red color, with notes of blue on the rim. Nose somewhat discreet with soft primary aromas of black fruits and silky character. On the palate, it reveals a very firm structure that hides the taste of exceptional black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, creating a long and powerful, but balanced finish. The color and structure of this wine indicate that this Port will benefit from long-term maturation.
