Orly Lumbreras Punto G 2018

Orly works in the high altitude outer limits of the Alto Alberche wine-growing zone, a wild & untamed part of the Sierra de Gredos, ancient dry-farmed bush vines clinging to poor granite soils. Punto G is Orly’s calling card, 80 y.o. Garnacha at 1100 masl, with 7 months in 4 y.o. French oak. Expect a strong core of blackberry & raspberry, with spicy notes. Powerful yet delicately poised, with exceptional vibrancy & superbly judged oak

 

Press Reviews – 90 Points, Darren Smith, Decanter October 2020. Ripe red and black fruits with baked earth and saline minerality. Concentrated in flavour and punchy at 15% alcohol, but still with a sense of freshness and polish. Really granitic, with savoury tannins that are still quite firm, which says to me that this wine could do with a year or so more in bottle. Drink 2020-2026. (Punto G 2018)
