The perfect combination of pineapple and rum, Planteray Pineapple is made by selecting the best pineapple (Victoria pineapples, they tried hundreds to find out which one), and combining this with their Plantation Original Dark Rum. Planteray Dark is a combination of 10-15-year-old Jamaican rum, and 1-3-year-old Barbadian rum. They also add 15 grams per litre of their own special barrel aged sugar rum infusion, which is something that adds a burst of sweetness to their rums (a little like the dosage in Champagne). Some rum enthusiasts prefer no added sugar rums, others see added sugar as "adding salt to a meal". What we can say is in this case is that Planteray Pineapple is an excellent rum, and we appreciate Planteray explaining their process.
Official Tasting Notes A rich and delicious bouquet, accented by smoky notes and aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus peel, and a touch of clove. The palate opens with a structured, pleasant sensation of ripe banana, pineapple, and spices layered in a smoky finish.
