Raasay Single Malt R-02

This is the Isle of Raasay single malt, batch R-02. Made with a mixture of heavily peated and unpeated single malt aged in a combination of first-fill Rye whiskey casks, virgin Chinkapin oak and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks.

R-02 has slightly higher peating levels than their first standard release (R-01) but this is still on the lower levels (around 12ppm).

Their aim is a lightly peated single malt with fruity notes and spice. Raasay is a beautiful island, just off the east coast of Skye.

Official Tasting Notes
Lightly peated - aromatic smoke. Fruit- cherry, apricot, blackcurrant. Savoury spice- black pepper, cinnamon. Sweet spice - crystalised ginger. Sandalwood, vanilla & butterscotch. A hint of saltiness.
