Sigurd Syrah 2020

A northern Rhone-esque Barossa valley Syrah. Concentrated cassis, blueberry and bramble tempered by an elegant violet florality - this would go beautifully with some old school lamb prosciutto or Norwegian Fenalår.

95% Syrah from vineyards in Ebenezer and just outside Williamstown in the Barossa valley, with 5% Viognier. The vintage is fermented for 14 days in 1000L vats, with 30% of the Syrah and the Viognier fermented as whole bunches. The must is then pressed into Old french oak hogsheads and around 20% lightly toasted new Limousin oak to age for 14 months before blending and bottling.

Official Tasting Notes
A classic Syrah with a lovely mix of blue fruits and mulberry, and a hint of cedary oak holding it all together. For the Barossa, this is bright and balanced without being blousy and the fruit concentration follows through on the palate with a firm and silky tannin profile.
