Sugar House Scotch Bonnet Spiced Rum

A unique and exciting take on a spiced rum, combining Sugar House' long fermented, fruity rum with Scotch Bonnet chillies, grapefruit, pineapple and passionfruit.

A new rum distiller in Glasgow, with great ideas, both in production and concept. One thing we particularly like is the sugar labelling on the bottle. This spiced rum is less than 20 grams per litre.

Staff Tasting Notes
Nose : The tropical fruits are certainly at the forefront, with pineapples/mangoes most prominent. Palate : Juicy sweet fruits, quite elegant overall. Weight from the pot still rum helps to carry this with a good texture. Finish : Firey pepper erupts at first and slowly fades giving way to fruits again. Comments : Suprisingly well balanced, despite all of the big flavours, and carries the sweetness well. This would certainly give a Mai Tai a chilli kick!
