From just outside Bolgheri, home to Sassicaia, Gaja’s Ca’ Marcanda and many other historic estates. Lies the young Siette Cieli, planted in 2000 and winemaking carried out since 2012. The new addition of Elena Pozzolini has made waves in the quality of winemaking. The vineyard itself is a distinctly different Bolgheri site. High elevation, with incredibly rocky and stony soils, however the unmistakable Bolgheri character still shines through this wine. Even though it is a fence away from bearing the appellation name.
Food PairingAnything rich and Italian, or perhaps try this with simple red meats.
Staff Tasting Notes Rich plums, blackcurrant and clafoutis, intertwined with cedar, cigar box spice and damson. This is tense, elegant with strong silky tannins and a perfectly composed amount of acidity.
Official Tasting Notes An outstanding blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Malbec. It's deep and lovely and concentrated, and so together, nice tight knit but open expression, with fine, structured but polished tannins. Brilliant with steak/roast beef. You could really just enjoy it slowly in a big glass with some cheese. "The 2018 Indaco is classy and polished to the core. Silky and beautiful and persistent, the 2018 impresses with its energy and overall poise. Mocha, espresso and blackberry jam, licorice and lavender come together nicely in this understated offering from Sette Cieli. 93 points" Vinous, Antonio Galloni
