Turckheim Edelzwicker NV 75cl
Most wines from Alsace today bear the name of a single grape variety, however traditionally their wines would have been made from a field blend of the many varieties allowed. The word zwicker, meaning blend, would have been used but some producers felt this was not fitting for wines that only used the very best varieties, therefore the term Edelzwicker, meaning noble blend, was created for such wines that did not use the 'inferior', Chasselas variety. This is traditional style of Alsace wine full of freshness and complexity unlike most you may have tried from the region.
