Westland whiskey is at the forefront of the American singe malt movement and is distilled at an urban distillery in Seattle’s warehouse district, SoDo, but is aged north of the city in the stunning Pacific Northwest landscape of Skagit valley. Since it began in 2011, Westland has specialised in American single malt, now recognised as a definition. It treats malted barley like a Seattle roaster does coffee beans - exploring potential and variety in different batches.
Official Tasting Notes The Pacific Northwest conditions with warm summers, but very rainy winters allows for a steady development of flavours. This particular mash bill begins with light smoke and sweet peat on the nose along with hints of pear, apple, and caramel. On the palate there is barbecue sweetness, as well as nutty, earthy notes. To finish; a touch more peat, plenty of green apple, and nectarine.
