Yamazaki Distillers Reserve

Yamazaki distillery started distilling in 1923 near Kyoto, with the aim to create excellent Japanese whisky. To that end, they have their own cooperage on site to tailor barrels to their specific requirements. Across their range, fruity notes, creamy notes and spice come to the fore. Their Distillers Reserve is aged in French oak casks, ex sherry casks and some Japanese Mizunara oak, which is a very expensive type of oak, and adds spice and herbal notes.

Official Tasting Notes

Nose – Strawberry, cherry, Mizunara (Japanese oak).

Palate – Raspberry, white peach, touch of coconut.

Finish – Sweet vanilla, clear finish with, hint of cinnamon.
