Full-bodied yet easy drinking, bursting with juicy ripe red fruits and a whisper of eucalyptus, with just enough gentle tannin to impart structure - an ideal wine for a beach barbeque.

Winemaker, Andre Adriaan "Adi" Badenhorst, along with his cousin, Hein, founded AA Badenhorst Family Wines in 2008 when they purchased 60 hectares of land in Paardeberg, Western Cape. Applying his decades of experience, Adi farms his vineyards organically and describes his winemaking as "back to basics", using traditional winemaking equipment and cement vessels.

This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cinsault and Grenache Noir in proportions which change from vintage to vintage. The fruit is grown in Swartland, mainly on granite and slate soils.

The grapes are picked by hand and chilled overnight before pressing, as whole bunches into concrete tanks to ferment. Extraction of tannins and phenols from the skins is kept relatively low, instead emphasising the expression of primary fruit characteristics. After fermentation, the wine is aged on lees in the fermentation vessel for 6 months before bottling unfined and with only light filtration.
