Abel Mendoza Jarrarte Tinto Rioja 2022

Bright and expressive, bursting with fresh red fruits which are underpinned by subtle aromatic spice and structured by fine, gentle tannins - an easy and versatile pairing for grilled meats, pizza and burgers.

100% hand-harvested Tempranillo, selected from among 37 parcels around the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra which includes vineyards from Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. 

The grapes undergo carbonic maceration, whereby the grapes are added to a vessel which is flushed with carbon dioxide and sealed. In this anaerobic environment, the berries begin to ferment inside their own skins producing, in addition to ethanol, a range of fruity and spicy-flavoured esters while also reducing the overall acidity of the juice.

The fruit is then pressed and the must fermented in concrete tanks at a controlled, low temperature to retain freshness.
