The Mezcal Verde dedicated craft distillery opened in 2017, in Tlacolula, Oaxaca, creating exceptional small batch Mezcal using traditional methods. 8 year old Espadin agave plants are harvested and the pinas are cooked with three types of wood - red oak, ocote, and pepper tree - for a complex smoky profile in the mezcal. After Tahona-stone milling and double distillation in copper stills, this smokiness shines alongside a grassy herbal note and a peach fruitiness.

Mezcal Amores themselves are comitted to sustainability, with 10 agave plants replanted for each one harvested, a nursery to maintain biodiversity and propogate heritage varietals, and 15% of their net profits going to programmes on the study of social and ecological sustainability.
