Angulo Innocenti Malbec 2018

A fresh and pure, yet deep and rich Malbec from the cool climate of the southern Uco Valley. Bursting with Bramble, black cherry and plum - A classic pairing for steaks, but fresh enough to pair nicely with braised pork dishes too.

Malbec from La Consulta in the southernmost tip of the Uco Valley, about 1000m above sea level, where a combination of the cool climate, good exposure to sunlight and dry, sandy soils results in low yeilding vines that produce very concentrated fruit.

The grapes are hand-picked from 4 blocks of drip-irrigated vines. Fruit from two of these blocks is fermented and cold-macerated over 7 days, while that from the other two blocks undergoes 8-12 days of post-fermentation maceration. 50% of the wine is is aged in barrels for 8 months, with spontaneous malolactic fermentation, before blending and bottling.
