Avamposti Monferrato Nebbiolo Altrove 2020

A fresher and more delicate Nebbiolo than those typical of neighbouring Barolo. Rose petals, red berries and an earthy spice framed by dusty tannins - A gorgeous pairing for braised lamb dishes.

This Nebbiolo was harvested from less than one hectare of 14 year old vines planted on a steep, south-facing slope in Monferrato in Piedmont.

The grapes were macerated for 15 days on skins before pressing into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. The wine was then aged for two years in a combination of old oak barriques (25%) and much larger botti (75%).

Official Tasting Notes
Lightly floral aromas with notes of plum and berry fruit balanced by savoury characters. The palate is juicy with ripe plum and black cherry, supple tannins and a lightly spicy finish.
