Blair Athol 1998 25 Year Old RMW Cask 2780

A 25 year old single cask Blair Athol, selected and bottled by our sister company Royal Mile Whiskies.

Highly prized by blenders for its fruit cake notes and body, we have a lot of love for this beautiful distillery, neighbouring our Drinkmonger Pitlochry shop. A long, gentle maturation, we found this whisky had a perfect balance between cask and spirit character. Notes of barley sugar, bready notes, peppered strawberries, and stone fruits kept us tasting, trying to find out more!

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose – The nose has notes of proper egg custard, candied citrus peel, dried apricot, roasted fennel, a wholegrain cereal character and grassiness.

Palate – The palate displays a great balance between many long years and a gentle cask impact. A broad, bready maltiness, stone fruits and subtle vanilla, and a spicy finish (like peppered strawberries).
