This is a very complex wine, with a wide range of subtleties that bring to mind the vineyard itself. From the most direct aromas of blackberry and black liquorice to the plums and figs, as well as hints of caramel, violet and spices. Finally, there are metallic, iodised notes that evoke El Regollar’s iron loam. On the palate the wine is subtle, silky and elegant, with hints of ripe black fruit. There are new aromas that bring to mind the soil: spices, walnuts, balsamic and aromatic plants such as thyme and rosemary. The wines rich aromas, the lively acidity and the well-polished tannins come together in a most expressive whole. This is a wine with a contained tension which is best characterised by its elegance.
