Bodegas Amaren Seleccion de Vinedos Rioja 2020

Rounded ripe plum, classy oak spice and a rich balsamic edge - A perfect pairing for grilled red meat and steaks.

This wine, the Winemaker's Selection, is a blend of Tempranillo (85%) and Garnacha (15%) from vines aged over 30 years on the slopes and terraces of Samaneigo, with a mixture of chalky, clay-limestone and gravely soils.

After picking and selection, the grapes are destemmed and crushed then fermented in concrete vessels followed post-fermentation maceration over the course of 8 days. The wine is clarified and filtered before ageing for 12 months in both French and American oak prior to bottling. The bottles are held at the winery for a further 12 months prior to release.

Official Tasting Notes
Ruby red colour, a clean nose with notes of balsamic and fine nuances of plum and clean oak. Smooth, fruit and spice flavours with toasted oak. Complex and structured. A pleasant finish with red fruits and hints of eucalyptus.
