A wine that has a whole new level of appreciation for terroir - it is complex, scented, lifted, elegant, and has such a lightness of touch from the crystalline minerality at its core. Fragrant redcurrant, dark cherries, and violets - lighter than you may expect, perhaps even Burgundian...
Official Tasting Notes The 2010 already evidences some notes of maturity on the rim with intense aromas of spice, cured meat and leather coming through alongside the concentrated macerated strawberry and tart blackberry character on the palate. These complex notes draw initial comparisons with 2006 and expectations of a richer core – yet upon tasting this phoenix’s true colours are revealed. The wine is incredible with a superbly focused, mineral core that is quite breath-taking. It sings on the palate, with a crystalline minerality that generates an exuberant, lifted sensation of light and air when you taste, and which lasts and lasts on the long, endless finish.
