Bollinger PN AYC18 Brut

PN AYC18, the fourth edition of the Bollinger PN range, is a 100% Pinot Noir Blanc de Noir. For this release, the assemblage consists predominantly of fruit from Cru vineyards in the commune of Aÿ in the Marne Valley. This base wine, from the 2018 vintage, was blended with aged reserve wines from vintages as far back as 2009. After a period of ageing on lees in bottle, the wine was disgorged and topped up with a dosage of 6 g/L.

2018 was an exceptional vintage in Champagne. An extremely wet winter provided abundant groundwater to sustain the vines through a long hot summer, which resulted in high yields of healthy, rich fruit. The quality of the fruit from this vintage is more than apparent in this delightful cuvée.

Official Tasting Notes
Golden with bronze reflections. The aroma of the AYC edition is first characterised by notes of honey, fruit jellies, quince and candied citrus. Aromas of marzipan and blood orange also complement the nose. On the palate, it is understated and rich, with a beautifully expansive finish, full of confit citrus which enhances the wine’s freshness.
