An unpeated Islay whisky with a focus on barley and its origin. Where many large distilleries will source their barley from England and further afield, Bruichladdich distillery uses only Scottish barley to make their whisky. This barley focus imbues a delightful complexity to the spirit, and this character is accentuated by the use of American oak and wine casks for maturation.
Official Tasting Notes Nose – A burst of barley sugar, and a dash of mint, followed by freshly cut wild flowers: buttercups, daisy, meadowsweet, primrose and cherry blossom. With a little water, caramelised fruits, lemon drops, honey and orange fudge. Palate – Sweet oak notes, barley sugar, ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt. An easy drinking whisky to get to know.
