Ca N'Estruc Rosat 2022

Ca N'estruc, "House of the Estruch" is a historical agricultural estate in Catalonia, and home to the Estruch family and their descendants. Dating back to 1574, the estate has been home to cereal farms, orchards, livestock and, consistently, grape vines.

Though the Estruch family had been making wine on the Estruch estate for hundreds of years, it was not until 1980 that the current head of the family, Francisco Marti Badia, began the process of professionalising Ca N'Estruc's viticulture.

This wine is 100% estate-grown Garnatxa Negra (AKA Garnacha Tinta/Grenache Noir) from vines aged 25-40 years. The fruit is harvested by hand, destemmed, then transferred directly to a vessel, without pressing, for 4 hours of cold maceration. The grapes are then gently pressed and the must is settled for 24 hours at 15 °C to stabilise and clarify. The clarified must is fermented in stainless steel vessels by indigenous yeast from the vineyard at a controlled temperature for around two weeks. The wine is bottled without further ageing to preserve freshness.

Official Tasting Notes
It has a very delicate cherry-pink colour, with bright and very vivid reflections. It is clear on the nose, with appealing aromas of red fruits such as strawberries, fresh cherries and blackberries, and hints of anise. On the palate the entry is broad and juicy, with a creamy texture that is balanced by a good freshness and a very fragrant finish, which welcomes you to have a second glass.
