Casa Relvas Herdade de Sao Miguel Escolha dos Enologos 2021

Intense, brooding and complex, offering a harmonious combination of ripe fruit, violets and leather - try this with a rich venison and bramble ragu.

The Escolha dos Enologos (Winemakers' Selection) is exactly that - a special cuvée blended from a selection the winemakers' favourite wines from each vintage.

This vintage is a blend of hand-harvested Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional. The fruit is fully destemmed and macerated for 48 hours before fermentation between 22-28°C in open lagares. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and 9 months of ageing in 400L French oak barrels prior to bottling.

Official Tasting Notes
Complex aroma of ripe red fruits, wildflowers and spices very well integrated with vanilla and toasted notes. Well-balanced, round, rich taste of fruits and spices, nice structure of smooth tannins.
