Casa Relvas Herdade de Sao Miguel Tinto 2021

A brilliant value Alentejo red blend. Full and ripe with an intense vein of sharp cassis - Wonderful with roast lamb or venison.

A blend of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in proportions that change from vintage to vintage.

The grapes are harvested at night to preserve primary fruit characteristics, destemmed and macerated for 48 hours before fermentation in stainless steel vats. This is followed by a further 5-10 days of maceration before malolactic fermentation in stainless steel in the presence of French oak staves. Around half of the batch is aged in French oak barrels for 4 months prior to bottling.

Official Tasting Notes
Very ripe red and black fruits (mulberry, raspberry and plum), integrated with spicy and balmy notes, such as pepper, mint and coconut. Well-balanced, round, rich taste of fruits and spices, nice structure with smooth tannins.
