Champagne Paul Launois Contraste #1

This Blanc de Noir Champagne is 100% Pinot Meunier from the Ardre Valley, about 10km west-southwest of Rheims. The vines sit in clay-limestone and clay-marl soils on moderately steep slopes either side of the river.

The base wine of this cuvée comes from the 2019 vintage was vinified in a combination of stainless steel (57%) and oak (43%) and underwent malolactic fermentation. The assemblage was bottled in June 2020 and aged on lees for two years before disgorgement. The wine was topped up with a dosage of 3 g/L, designating this Champagne as Extra Brut.

Official Tasting Notes
The invigorating attack gives way to a pretty bouquet of yellow fruits and flowers, opening onto a persistent and slightly saline finish. Between freshness, fruity and elegant, the Contraste vintage is a refined wine.
