Champagne Perrine Fresne Sarmate Extra Brut NV

"Sarmate" is the first cuvée from independent female winemaker, Perrine Fresne and is a blend of Pinot Noir (37%), Chardonnay (37%) and Pinot Meunier (26%) from her vineyards in the village of Sermiers in Petite Montagne de Reims.

Fruit from the 2020 vintage (70% of the assemblage) was vinified in stainless steel (separately by variety) before blending together with 30% reserve wines and bottling. The assemblage was aged in bottle on lees until disgorgement in July 2022. As an Extra Brut, the wine was topped up with a dosage of 2 g/L.

Official Tasting Notes
Playful fleshy apple and cherry on the nose, Perrine Fresne Sarmate has a precise and focused delivery. It keeps the trajectory on the palate with some lovely lemon peel notes. It's really layered with an interesting sandy, chalky texture and a long finish. The perfect balance between complexity and freshness creates a vibrant and distinctive drinking experience.
