Champagne Serveaux Meunier d'Antan Extra Brut NV

Rich, concentrated, with a fresh and aromatic nose, and a complex autolytic palate, leading towards a beautifully rounded finish.

Elodie, Nicolas, and Hugo, siblings and third-generation winemakers, now oversee the Serveaux family estate. Their grandfather, Georges Serveaux, planted the vineyards spanning 15 hectares in the 1950s. Situated in Passy-sur-Marne, a small town by the Marne river, the Serveaux family cherishes their Pinot Meunier, renowned in the Marne valley.

This Extra Brut, Meunier d'Antan - "Meunier of Yesteryear" - is a cuvée of 100% Pinot Meunier from 50+ year old vines, blended in equal quantities from the 2013 and 2014 vintages. The age of these vines lends itself to particularly concentrated and richly flavoured fruit. The 2014 vintage was vinified traditionally in stainess steel, whereas the 2013 vintage was fermented and aged for 6 months in oak barrels. Neither parcel underwent malolactic fermentation. The wines were blended and bottled for secondary fermentation and 36 months of ageing on lees. The wine was disgorged and topped up with a dosage of 3 g/L.

Official Tasting Notes
Aromas of fresh pear, green tea and sweet brioche are bolstered by robust biscuit and toast flavours and an intensely rounded palate. Creamy and rich with a long finish.
