Aligote is still somewhat of a rarity in Burgundy, and this wine demonstrates it’s for no good reason. Austere, acidic, with a textural waxy character, this is burgundies answer to Chablis. Max Blondelle, gained experience in the hills of Chablis before moving to Chanzy and it’s easy to see that experience here.
Food PairingChicken dishes are excellent here.
Staff Tasting Notes Crisp lemons, green apple, and a zingy acidity. However, the beautiful waxen palate really cuts through the acidity and leads to an incredibly balanced, fresh, aligoté.
