Charles Heidsieck Rose Reserve NV

Luscious, fruity, floral and spiced. Reminiscent of a fine strawberry tartelette and with delightful texture and balance - A real treat of a pairing with tuna tartare.

As with all Charles Heidsieck cuvées, this brut rosé is made with grapes selected from some of Champagne's top villages, such as Les Riceys, Ambonnay and Aÿ. Vins Clairs of each variety are fermented in stainless steel vats, then undergo malolactic fermentation. These wines, including a 5-6% proportion of red Pinot Noir from les Riceys, are blended to produce the base wine, which is in turn blended with reserve wines accounting for 20% of the assemblage. Overall, this cuvée consists of 37% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir and 26% Pinot Meunier.

The blended wine is bottled with the addition of yeast (Tirage) and undergoes a secondary fermentation and ageing in bottle for 48-60 months before disgorging. The finished Champagne has a residual sugar content of 11.2g/L, balanced by an acidity of 6.28g/L.

Official Tasting Notes
A deliciously fresh wine which perfectly expresses the complexity of the Charles Heidsieck style. Coral-like in appearance, with subtle orange reflections reminiscent of antique roses. Delicate aromas of wild strawberries and almond pastries gradually become more intense alongside rich, warm notes of gingerbread and cinnamon. Following a silky-rich texture, the finish is long and balanced.
