Château Jacques-Noir Saint Emilion 2016

Opulent and velvety, yet with a bright and generous fruitiness and very classy French oak spice - a dream pairing for beef or venison steaks.

Château Jacques Noir, along with its 5.5 hectare vineyard plot is St-Etienne-de-Lisse, was accquired by Famille Ducourt in 2001. The family spent 10 years revitilising this site which is now a high quality Merlot monopole in the very heart of Saint-Emilion.

The fruit was harvested in the cool early morning and rigorously sorted for quality. The grapes were macerated at a low temperature for 24-48 hours before pressing into stainless steel vats for fermentation at around 26°C. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks before 12 months of aging in predominantly old French oak barrels. After bottling, the finished wine is cellared for at least 18 months prior to release.

Official Tasting Notes
Delicate, almost soft, bringing together red fruit and toasted notes. A round attack with plenty of oak reveals great maturity and a balanced structure supported by soft tannins. Persistent notes of strawberry and blackberry bring freshness and elegance on the finish.
