Christian Drouin Mars Angels

Christian Drouhin are an excellent producer of Calvados in Normandy. They produce apple brandies that are made for ageing, using apples grown from several farms, including some of their family farms. This is one of their special editions, aged for 13 years in French oak, and then finished for 8 months in Mars distillery ex Japanese whisky casks. 

As the 3 Japanese casks were made of American oak, this Pays d'Auge calvados was re-classified as an Eau de Vie de Cidre to conform with the Pays d'Auge appellation rules.

Official Tasting Notes
The nose offers a great balance between green apples and barley, with hints of pear and peach. On the palate it is a delicate spirit, with fruity notes and an overall elegant style.
